Study on orderly charging strategy of EV with load forecasting

Wanjun Yin et al.

Summary: The development and popularization of electric vehicles (EVs) are crucial for environmental protection, energy saving, and emission reduction. However, the disorderly charging of EVs poses security concerns to the grid. In this study, an optimal scheduling model based on grid loss is proposed and transformed using second-order cone relaxation technology. Additionally, the combination of LSTM and XGBoost is optimized for accurate charging load forecasting. The effectiveness of the optimal scheduling strategy is verified using actual EV charging data in the area.

The role of the energy storage and the demand response in the robust reserve and network-constrained joint electricity and reserve market

Marko Mimica et al.

Summary: The increase of variable renewable energy sources in the power system leads to additional reserve needs. The integration of energy storage and demand response provides additional flexibility sources. This study proposes a method to compare and evaluate the benefits of energy storage and demand response. The results show that reserve constraints increase the operation cost of the system, and energy storage and flexible loads achieve higher revenues when participating in the reserve market.

On large action space in EV charging scheduling optimization

Zhaoyu Jiang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the charging scheduling problem for electric vehicles (EVs), considering the uncertainty in renewable power generation and the randomness in EV charging demand. By exploring the structural property of the problem, an urgency index is developed to rank the EVs, and three methods are applied to search in the action space. Numerical demonstrations show that simulation-based policy improvement (SBPI) improves the performance of base policies in various cases compared to the CPLEX-based method.

Multi-type electric vehicle load prediction based on Monte Carlo simulation

Yong Xing et al.

Summary: This paper presents an electric vehicle (EV) charging load prediction approach that considers vehicle types. It utilizes the GM (1,1) model to estimate EV ownership and employs the Monte Carlo algorithm to build a probability distribution model for travel laws and charging characteristics. The analysis of charging behavior for different types of EVs allows for the comparison of load demand with the original load curve, providing theoretical guidance for grid planning and optimal dispatching.

Risk-based scheduling of an off-grid hybrid electricity/hydrogen/gas/ refueling station powered by renewable energy

Xiao Xu et al.

Summary: The article proposes a hybrid electricity/hydrogen/gas/refueling station (EHGRS) powered by renewable energy in an off-grid region, using a hybrid stochastic/information gap decision theory (IGDT) optimization method to solve the scheduling problem in an uncertain environment, aiming to find the maximum expected profits. Two different scheduling strategies are proposed, and the study finds that under uncertain demands, profits decrease for the risk-averse scheduling and increase for the risk-seeker scheduling compared to pure stochastic optimization results.
