How the Pilot Low-Carbon City Policy Promotes Urban Green Innovation: Based on Temporal-Spatial Dual Perspectives

Summary: This paper evaluates the impact of China's pilot low-carbon city policy (PLCC) on regional green innovation using the difference-in-difference method. The empirical results show that PLCC significantly promotes urban green innovation. The policy effect of PLCC on regional green innovation follows an inverted U shape in the temporal dimension, with a peak in the seventh year after implementation. In the spatial dimension, PLCC promotes green innovation in surrounding cities through spatial spillover effects within 200 km, with the spillover effect decreasing with increasing distance. Mechanism analysis suggests that PLCC enhances regional environmental regulations and alleviates financing constraints to promote regional green innovation.

Do Technology Alliance Network Characteristics Promote Ambidextrous Green Innovation? A Perspective from Internal and External Pressures of Firms in China

Summary: Corporate alliances are an important means for firms to share resources and costs, but their effectiveness in enhancing firms' ambidextrous green innovation capabilities remains uncertain. Using joint patent application data, this study explores the impact of network centrality and structural hole characteristics on exploitative and exploratory green innovation from the internal and external pressures perspective. The results show that network centrality and structural holes can promote ambidextrous green innovation, with a greater impact on exploitative innovation. However, the lagged effects analysis reveals a greater impact on exploratory innovation. The impact of alliance networks on ambidextrous green innovation is positively moderated by internal and external pressures, and there is a complementary effect between the two. This study highlights the importance of balancing both types of green innovation for long-term competitiveness.

Decoupling of economic growth from CO2 emissions in Yangtze River Economic Belt sectors: A sectoral correlation effects perspective

Summary: This paper explores the decoupling state of sector economic growth from CO2 emissions in the input-output process. It proposes a methodology of correlation effects decoupling index to analyze the decoupling status and sources of sector CO2 emissions. Through a case study of the Yangtze River Economic Belt sectors in China, the results show a high correlation effects of CO2 emissions in the energy-intensive sectors and a decrease in the decoupling of economic growth from CO2 emissions, primarily influenced by the deterioration of correlation effects in the energy-intensive sectors.

Spatial-temporal variation and coupling analysis of residential energy consumption and economic growth in China
