Comprehensive performance of composite phase change materials based on ternary eutectic chloride with CuO nanoparticles for thermal energy storage systems

Qing Wang et al.

Summary: A new phase change energy storage material based on a NaCl-KCl-LiCl ternary molten salt and CuO nanoparticles as a heat transfer enhancer is produced. The CuO nanoparticles effectively improve the specific heat, thermal conductivity, and energy storage density of the ternary chloride salts without affecting their phase change properties. The phase change materials exhibit high heat transfer efficiency, energy storage density, and high temperature cycling stability.

Synergistical thermal modulation function of 2D Ti3C2 MXene composite nanosheets via interfacial structure modification

Yuxin Ouyang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of different fillers (GO and CNF) on the interlayer spacing and thermal conductivity of MXene. It is found that the addition of GO suppresses the out-of-plane thermal transport, while the addition of CNF increases the thermal conductivity of MXene. This finding provides important guidance for tailoring the thermal properties of MXene composites.

The effect of water on the thermal conductivities of deep eutectic solvents (choline chloride plus ethylene glycol) using two-wire structure 3x method

Tian Lan et al.

Summary: The advantages of deep eutectic solvent (DES), such as non-toxic, non-flammable, low vapor pressure, and low cost, make it a green solvent for capturing carbon dioxide. This paper focuses on the effect of water on the thermal conductivities of DES. An improved experimental system was used to measure the thermal conductivities of DES and its aqueous solution, revealing the impact of water on the thermal conductivities. The results show high accuracy and provide valuable insights for further research in this field.

Experimental Characterization and Model Verification of Thermal Conductivity from Mesoporous to Macroporous SiOC Ceramics

Lin Qiu et al.

Summary: This study synthesized mesoporous and macroporous SiOC ceramics using polydimethylsiloxane with different viscosities, and found that the thermal conductivities of gas phase and solid phase inside the porous structure increase with increasing pore size at the nanometer scale, while the overall thermal conductivity of the porous structure decreases. The findings suggest strategies for designing SiOC porous ceramic super-insulation materials with extremely low thermal conductivity.
