M-shopping service quality dimensions and their effects on customer trust and loyalty: an empirical study

Ruoqing Zhang et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study is to identify the dimensions of mobile shopping service quality as perceived by mobile shoppers and examine their linkages with customer trust and loyalty. The findings reveal five key dimensions: responsiveness, personalization, ease of use, aesthetics, and perceived risk, all of which significantly impact customer loyalty. Trust plays a partial mediating role in the effects of responsiveness and personalization, a full mediating role in the effects of aesthetics and perceived risk, and no mediating role in the effect of ease of use on loyalty.

Cross-channel effects of omnichannel retail marketing strategies: A review of extant data-driven research

Ahmed Timoumi et al.

Summary: The paper reviews 50 empirical retailing research papers published in the last 20 years to provide an overview of our current understanding, areas for improvement, and gaps in knowledge regarding the effects of omnichannel retail marketing strategies on consumer responses and retail firm's aggregate outcomes. The authors focus on five strategies and integrate the findings into several insights. The results suggest that adding online and offline channels can boost overall sales for retailers, while the addition of a mobile shopping channel usually leads to increased purchase frequency, amount, and overall sales in the long-term. Cross-channel integration strategies and online advertising also have positive effects on a retailer's overall performance.
