In situ detection of multitarget impurities on contact lens by electrochemical scanning probe

Tzu-En Lin et al.

Summary: This research focuses on the detection of multitarget impurities in situ on the lens surface using scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) as a more innovative and effective label-free assay. The study demonstrates that SECM can be used to detect protein and bacterial impurities on contact lenses without labeling. Therefore, SECM could be a new tool for distinguishing the cleanliness of contact lenses in the future.

An isolated single-particle-based SECM tip interface for single-cell NO sensing

Jiening Wu et al.

Summary: In this study, an interface design strategy based on platinum single nano-particle (Pt NP) was developed for real-time monitoring of nitric oxide (NO) concentration and morphological imaging of single MCF-7 cells using a modified scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) probe. The modified probe showed high sensitivity and good selectivity for NO detection, and demonstrated superior performance in detecting the fluctuation of NO released by a single MCF-7 cell under the stimulation of cadmium (Cd), which provides a promising method for single-particle-based SECM applications.

AI-Assisted Fusion of Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy Images Using Novel Soft Probe

Yi-Hong Lin et al.

Summary: Scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) is a scanning probe technique that allows for the study of surface morphology and electrochemical reactivity. The quality of SECM images is affected by various factors, including electrode size and other uncontrollable factors. To overcome these challenges, researchers have developed soft gold probes and utilized AI-assisted image fusion to improve the quality of SECM images.

Compressed Sensing Image Reconstruction of Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy Measurements Carried Out at Ultrahigh Scan Speeds Using Continuous Line Probes

Anna E. Dorfi et al.

Summary: Research demonstrates that compressed sensing (CS) postprocessing can be successfully applied to scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) measurements with nonlocal continuous line probes (CLPs), reconstructing images with minimal distortion. By evaluating image quality at varying scan rates, a new upper bound for CLP scan rates has been established.
