Multifunctional Zr-MOF Based on Bisimidazole Tetracarboxylic Acid for pH Sensing and Photoreduction of Cr(VI)

Xiaoning Wang et al.

Summary: A new luminescent zirconium MOF, Zr-BBI, was successfully constructed using a rationally designed functionalized bisimidazole tetracarboxylic acid ligand, exhibiting high stabilities, intense fluorescent emission, and good fluorescence detection performance towards Cr2O72-. Zr-BBI also serves as a catalyst for efficient photoreduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) under visible light, with enhanced photocatalytic efficiency by introducing a hole scavenger. These results demonstrate the feasibility of enhancing photocatalytic activity by introducing specific functional groups in MOF frameworks.

Room temperature DMMP gas sensing based on cobalt phthalocyanine derivative/graphene quantum dot hybrid materials

Wenkai Jiang et al.

Summary: The study developed two types of cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc) derivatives with hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) and hexafluorbisphenol A (6FBPA) substituents. Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) were used to detect dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP) gas, a simulant for sarin nerve gas, and showed good response performance at room temperature. The hybrid materials demonstrated improved response speed to DMMP gas with a minimum detection limit of 500 ppb, while maintaining excellent repeatability, stability, and selectivity.
