Homological Algebra for Persistence Modules

Peter Bubenik et al.

Summary: In this paper, we study the homological algebra of persistence modules in both one-parameter and multi-parameter settings, treating them as sheaves or graded modules. The graded module and sheaf tensor product, Hom bifunctors, as well as their derived functors Tor and Ext are considered, along with explicit computations for interval modules. We also explore Kunneth theorems, universal coefficient theorems, and a Gabriel-Popescu theorem for persistence modules, showcasing the applications of these theorems to filtered cell complexes. Furthermore, we examine categories enriched over persistence modules, revealing a closed symmetric monoidal category enriched over itself from the graded module perspective.
