Effect of oxidizing ions on the corrosion behavior of SiN stainless steel in high-temperature nitric acid solution

Z. Liu et al.

Summary: The corrosion mechanism of stainless steels in high-temperature nitric acid media is affected by oxidizing ions. The electrochemical behavior and passive film characteristics of SiN stainless steel in hot nitric acid solution with different ions and concentrations were studied. The study found that oxidizing ions Cr6+, V5+, and Ce4+ affected both anodic and cathodic reactions, while non-oxidizing ion Fe3+ only changed cathodic reactions. The passive film primarily consisted of Fe2O3, Cr2O3, Cr(OH)3, and silicate, with the presence of silicate improving the protection of the passive film.

Synergistic effect of F- ions and scratch on the dynamic corrosion behavior of ZTi60

Pingping Zhao et al.

Summary: The dynamic corrosion behavior of ZTi60 in neutral NaCl solutions containing various F- concentrations and the effects of F- ions and mechanical scratches on the passive film were investigated. The results indicate that F- ions can migrate into the passive film and form fluorine-titanium complexes, and the scratched surface is more prone to damage compared to the intact surface.

Repassivation behavior of alloy 690TT in simulated primary water at different temperatures

Ji Liu et al.

Summary: The repassivation behavior of Alloy 690 T T in simulated primary water at different temperatures was investigated using the rapid scratching electrode technique and electrochemical measurements. The study found that the repassivation process had three stages controlled by the place exchange model and high field ion conduction model, with a reduction in repassivation rate and film protectiveness with increasing temperature. The correlations among several mechanisms describing the repassivation behavior of alloys were discussed.

Effect of pH on the Corrosion and Repassivation Behavior of TA2 in Simulated Seawater

Yingxiao Zhang et al.

Summary: The study found that the corrosion rate of TA2 in simulated seawater decreases and the repassivation speed increases with an increase in pH value, mainly due to changes in the composition of the passive film. The parameter b plays a crucial role in evaluating the repassivation behavior of TA2.
