A framework of incorporating confidence levels to deal with uncertainty in pairwise comparisons

Georgia Dede et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new framework for incorporating confidence levels in pairwise comparisons to address uncertainty issues related to individual expert judgments. The theoretical model based on the multivariate normal cumulative distribution function is compared with numerical results (Monte Carlo simulations) showing good agreement. The proposed framework may provide a basis for extensions aiming to provide further information on the accuracy of the evaluation of the final outcome.

Safety requirements for symbiotic human-robot collaboration systems in smart factories: a pairwise comparison approach to explore requirements dependencies

Georgia Dede et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on exploring the dependencies between human safety requirements and other critical requirements in smart factory operation, using a model-driven approach based on SysML to quantify the importance of these dependencies. By prioritizing requirements with highly ranked dependencies, the proposed method aims to facilitate the implementation phase and production line, contributing to the development of a model-driven approach supporting the integration of systems and software modeling for robotic systems in smart factories incorporating HRC.

Failure identification in a nuclear passive safety system by Monte Carlo simulation with adaptive Kriging

L. Puppo et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a computational framework to identify the CRs of a generic passive Decay Heat Removal system in NPPs. By training a fast-running metamodel using the Adaptive Kriging Monte Carlo Sampling technique, accuracy near the failure threshold is improved to identify input values leading to PSS failure. This is the first application of the metamodel-based AK-MCS technique for identifying CRs in a PSS of an NPP.
