Chelerythrine ameliorates rheumatoid arthritis by modulating the AMPK/mTOR/ULK-1 signaling pathway

Jun Cai et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that chelerythrine (CLT) effectively inhibits migration and proliferation of rheumatoid arthritis cells and induces cell death. The effects of CLT are mediated through the activation of the AMPK/mTOR/ULK-1 signaling pathway, leading to increased levels of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and apoptosis. In addition, CLT shows promising results in ameliorating arthritis and protecting against inflammation and bone damage in an in vivo model.

Fluorescence, Absorption, Chromatography and Structural Transformation of Chelerythrine and Ethoxychelerythrine in Protic Solvents: A Comparative Study

Jinjin Cao et al.

Summary: This study compares the fluorescence and absorption spectra of chelerythrine and ethoxychelerythrine in different solvents, and examines their structural changes. The results show that they can substitute each other in the same solvent and exhibit different fluorescence emission wavelengths under different solution conditions.

Zebrafish as an emerging tool for drug discovery and development for thyroid diseases

Poonam Yadav et al.

Summary: Zebrafish is a valuable model for studying thyroid development and related diseases due to its similarity in genetic structure and its small size, low cost, and transparent embryo. It shares the same molecular mechanism of thyroid organogenesis with mammals, making it a useful tool for studying thyroid hormone signaling, embryonic development, thyroid-related disorders, and novel genes involved in early thyroid development.

Marco A. A. Belo et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the usefulness of zebrafish model in investigating acute and chronic inflammatory responses induced by various stimuli. Zebrafish's advantages, such as low breeding cost, high prolificity, transparent embryos, and high genetic similarity, facilitate translational research for vertebrate organisms like humans.
