A review on anti-peptic ulcer activities of medicinal plants used in the formulation of Enterica, Dyspepsia and NPK 500 capsules

Doris Kumadoh et al.

Summary: This review discusses the anti-ulcer properties, pharmacological activities, and related activities of medicinal plants used at the Centre for Plant Medicine Research in Ghana for the formulation of a triple herbal therapy for peptic ulcer disease. Further investigation is needed to confirm the mechanisms of action and efficacy of the herbal products in both in-vitro and in-vivo studies.

In vivo antiplasmodial activity of hydromethanolic leaf extract and solvent fractions of Maytenus gracilipes (Celastraceae) against Plasmodium berghei in mice

Dejen Nureye et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the antiplasmodial activity of Maytenus gracilipes, finding that the crude extract and solvent fractions from the leaves exhibited significant suppressive effects against malaria. The chloroform and n-butanol fractions showed more active antimalarial effects, suggesting the involvement of non-polar and medium polar constituents in the plant. Further analysis is needed to isolate and characterize the active compounds responsible for the plant's antimalarial activity.

Study of the Antimalarial Activity of the Leaf Extracts and Fractions of Persea americana and Dacryodes edulis and Their HPLC Analysis

Philip F. Uzor et al.

Summary: The study found that extracts of Persea americana and Dacryodes edulis showed significant antimalarial activity, with good therapeutic and suppressive effects on malaria-infected mouse models. Analysis revealed a variety of secondary metabolites in these plants, including alkaloids, flavonoids, and saponins, suggesting their potential as sources of new antimalarial compounds.

Corrosion inhibition behavior of chalcone oxime derivatives on carbon steel in 0.5 M H2SO4

A. Thoume et al.

Summary: The study shows that CO-H and CO-OMe exhibit excellent corrosion inhibition performance on carbon steel in 0.5 M sulfuric acid solution, with inhibition efficiencies reaching 95% and 96% respectively. These compounds are classified as mixed type inhibitors, chemisorbed on the carbon steel surface and following Langmuir isotherm.

Chalcone oxime derivatives as new inhibitors corrosion of carbon steel in 1 M HCl solution

A. Thoume et al.

Summary: The research evaluated the adsorption properties and corrosion inhibition ability of CO and CO-NO2 on carbon steel in 1 M HCl using chemical and electrochemical techniques, showing that they act as mixed-type inhibitors with good inhibition activity and can form a barrier film on the steel surface.
