A new species, Acicnemis ryukyuana, is described from Okinawa Island and Ishigaki Island, Japan. This species is most similar to other species in the genus Acicnemis based on external and genital morphology, except for the less prominent emargination of the third tarsomere. High-resolution stacked photographs and a detailed description of this morphologically distinct new species are provided.
