LiMPO: lightweight mobility prediction and offloading framework using machine learning for mobile edge computing

Sardar Khaliq uz Zaman et al.

Summary: The proliferation of mobile devices has led to the emergence of various services, but delivering task offloading results to users in the MEC environment is challenging, especially when user mobility is high. Traditional techniques handle computation offloading and mobility management separately, without considering real-time mobility factors, resulting in sub-optimal solutions. The LiMPO framework offloads compute-intensive tasks to user locations predicted by artificial neural networks and optimizes latency and energy consumption with a multi-objective genetic algorithm-based server selection technique.

Robust Multi-View Clustering With Incomplete Information

Mouxing Yang et al.

Summary: The success of existing multi-view clustering methods heavily relies on the assumption of view consistency and instance completeness. However, due to data collection and transmission, these assumptions are inevitably violated, resulting in the Partially View-unaligned Problem (PVP) and Partially Sample-missing Problem (PSP). To address these challenges, a novel method called robuSt mUlti-view clusteRing with incomplEte information (SURE) is proposed, providing a unified framework for solving PVP and PSP. SURE uses a contrastive learning paradigm and a noise-robust contrastive loss to reduce the influence of false negatives caused by random sampling. It is one of the first successful attempts to handle PVP and PSP simultaneously and addresses the novel paradigm of noisy labels. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of SURE compared to 10 state-of-the-art approaches in multi-view clustering.
