The Changing Face of Turner Syndrome

Claus H. Gravholt et al.

Summary: Turner syndrome is a rare genetic condition in females characterized by the absence or partial absence of the second sex chromosome, resulting in various clinical features such as short stature, ovarian dysgenesis, delayed puberty and infertility, congenital malformations, endocrine disorders, and neurocognitive deficits. A multidisciplinary approach is necessary for the management of TS, and recent clinical advances and genomic discoveries in this field are reviewed and discussed.

Effect of growth hormone cotreatment in sub- fertile women? 40 years: a meta-analysis

Mohamed Elkalyoubi et al.

Summary: Treatment with growth hormone (GH) is suggested to improve reproductive outcomes in poor responders, but its efficacy in women of advanced maternal age (AMA) remains unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis found that GH cotreatment improved clinical pregnancy and live birth rates per fresh embryo transfer in a subgroup of women of AMA. However, poor-responder patients did not benefit from GH co-treatment. More research is needed in this area.

Administration of growth hormone improves endometrial function in women undergoing in vitro fertilization: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Yujie Shang et al.

Summary: This meta-analysis evaluated the effects of growth hormone (GH) administration on endometrial function and reproductive outcomes in IVF cycles. The results showed that GH treatment significantly increased endometrial thickness and improved live birth rate and clinical pregnancy rate. Optimal treatment should be offered to the target population based on individual conditions and needs. However, caution should be exercised when interpreting the results due to limited sample sizes and methodological issues.

Uterine Development During Induced Puberty in Girls with Turner Syndrome

Monika Obara-Moszynska et al.

Summary: Most girls and women with Turner syndrome require estrogen replacement therapy for pubertal development. Uterine growth promotion is a fundamental effect of ERT in hypogonadism. Pubertal induction in patients with TS results in a significant increase in uterine volume, but the mature uterus is smaller compared to the healthy population.
