The association between outdoor allergens - pollen, fungal spore season and high asthma admission days in children and adolescents

Summary: The study found that pollen exposure in the two grass pollen seasons was associated with childhood asthma peak periods, with the pollen from the previous two days having an impact. Additionally, same day fungal spores, particularly Alternaria, were found to be more important than pollen. For boys, exposure to grass pollen and Alternaria spores increased the odds of asthma peak periods.
