The role of El Nino in modulating the effects of deforestation in the Maritime Continent

Ting-Hui Lee et al.

Summary: The study found that deforestation in the Maritime Continent leads to an increase in precipitation, which can be magnified during El Nino events. Additionally, a strong subsidence anomaly associated with El Nino reduces cloud cover, increases solar radiation, and raises surface temperatures.
