Treatment of CS2 in waste gas from rubber refining by gas cyclone-liquid jet separator

Liwang Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that lowering the absorption solution temperature and increasing the liquid phase velocity can enhance the removal effect of CS2, but simply increasing the mass transfer coefficient does not guarantee a higher absorption efficiency. Experimental verification showed that the highest efficiency of 94.05% was obtained at an intake air flow rate of 18 l/min. The gas cyclone-liquid jet separator has been successfully applied for the first time to remove CS2 from waste gas from the rubber industry, significantly reducing treatment costs and showing excellent application prospects.

Wei Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that among hexahedral, tetrahedral, and polyhedral cells, the hexahedral cells had the best agreement with experimental results, while the accuracies of polyhedral cases were close to hexahedral cases and better than tetrahedral cases. Despite being more economical in terms of computational resources, polyhedral meshes did not improve numerical accuracy.

Assessment on effectiveness of a shower type cooling tower

N. Anbazhaghan et al.

Summary: The fungus accumulated over the filling material in a conventional cooling tower can limit water flow and hinder heat transfer efficiency. Transforming a conventional pact type cooling tower to a shower type cooling tower by removing the filling material and adjusting the feed nozzle can potentially improve heat transfer efficiency. This study uses a counter-flow mathematical model to investigate the differences in height, temperature, relative humidity, droplet diameter, and air-water mixture enthalpy between the two cooling tower types.
