Modeling the reactive flow of semi-continuous mixtures by the adaptive characterization method

Daniele C. Rocha et al.

Summary: This work proposes and analyzes the direct quadrature method of moments (DQMoM) for simulating semi-continuous reactive mixtures' flow. The fixed point quadrature method (FPQM) is also extended to solve field problems with discrete distributions. The implementation of both methods in OpenFOAM (R) shows that DQMoM converges faster than FPQM for the reactive flow test case.

Phase Behavior Investigation of a Live Presalt Crude Oil from Short-Wave Infrared Observation, Acoustic Wave Sensing, and Equation of State Modeling

Jose F. Romero Yanes et al.

Summary: In this work, the phase behavior of a live presalt crude oil with high CO2 content was investigated using a combination of measurement and modeling techniques. The phase transitions were measured and modeled in the form of a (p, T) diagram, with additional measurements carried out in a pseudobinary oil + gas model system.

High-pressure phase equilibrium and volumetric properties of pseudo-binary mixtures of stock tank oil plus methane up to 463K

Yiqun Liu et al.

Summary: High-pressure phase equilibrium and volumetric properties are crucial for the development of HPHT reservoirs, but there is a lack of relevant data. In this study, asymmetric mixtures of methane + stock tank oil were experimentally measured, and the data were used to evaluate four different state equation models.
