Indole HDN Using Iridium Nanoparticles Supported on Titanium Nanotubes

Brenda C. Ledesma et al.

Summary: This study investigated the HDN of indole using iridium modified titanate nanotube catalyst. The results showed that the iridium titanate nanotube catalyst exhibited excellent activity and dispersion, as well as abundant and strong Bronsted acidity. This catalyst shows great potential for the conversion of indole.

Products, pathways, and kinetics for catalytic hydrodenitrogenation of quinoline in hydrothermal condition

Dan Xie et al.

Summary: This study investigates the reaction mechanism and kinetics of catalytic hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) of quinoline under hydrothermal conditions using Ni-Ru/gamma-Al2O3 catalyst and formic acid as hydrogen donor. The results show that quinoline conversion follows first-order kinetics, with the dehydrogenation of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline to quinoline being the rate-determining step. 2-hexene is the major denitrogenated product, primarily derived from hydrogenation of aniline with a higher formation rate from decahydroquinoline than from aniline derivatives. The catalyst, Ni-Ru bimetallic catalyst, is relatively unstable under supercritical water conditions.

Deep hydrodesulfurization of gas oils with high sulfur content: Experiment and kinetic modeling

P. V. Aleksandrov et al.

Summary: The hydrodesulfurization of straight-run gas oils with high sulfur content has been studied using a trickle bed down-flow reactor. The possibility of producing ultra low sulfur diesel using feedstocks with high sulfur content was demonstrated. Four kinetic models were considered to predict the effect of process parameters on the sulfur content in products, and their accuracy was verified by comparing the simulation results with experimental data.

Kinetics of dibenzothiophene hydrodesulfurization reactions using CoMoP/Al2O3 and NiMoP/Al2O3

Idia G. Nascimento et al.

Summary: This study aimed to estimate the kinetic parameters of DBT HDS reactions, with two power-law models providing good fits to the experimental data with different levels of detail. The estimation of parameters related to biphenyl hydrogenation to cyclohexylbenzene was hindered due to its significance only at conditions with high DBT conversions.

Influence of the order of the catalysts in the stacked bed of VGO hydrotreating catalysts

K. A. Nadeina et al.

Summary: The influence of catalyst order and their ratio on FCC feedstock hydrotreatment was investigated, with NiMo/Al2O3 catalyst showing the highest activity. The best results were achieved when the feedstock was treated first by NiMo/Al2O3 and then by CoMo/Al2O3, with a ratio of 40/60 vol% in the reactor.
