aRDG Analysis of Asphaltene Molecular Viscosity and Molecular Interaction Based on Non-Equilibrium Molecular Dynamics Simulation

Qunchao Lin et al.

Summary: Understanding the weak interactions between asphaltene molecules is crucial for comprehending their viscosity and aggregation behavior. This study used non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulation to calculate the shear viscosities and analyze the aggregation behaviors of three representative asphaltene molecules. The types of weak interactions were visualized using the average reduced density gradient method, and their stability was analyzed using the thermal fluctuation index. The results showed that different asphaltene molecules exhibited different viscosities and aggregation behaviors, and the weak interactions were relatively stable.

Atomic insights into the sintering process of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon clusters

Dingyu Hou et al.

Summary: This study investigated the sintering process of two homogeneous polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) clusters with diameters in the range of 3-6 nm using molecular dynamics simulations. Results showed the dependency of sintering rate on temperature and crosslinking level of PAH clusters.

Modelling of soot coalescence and aggregation with a two-population balance equation model and a conservative finite volume method

Binxuan Sun et al.

Summary: The paper aims to develop a population balance approach for accurate modelling of soot formation, with the accuracy of the method validated through experiments. The study finds that the two-PBE approach shows significant improvement in predicting soot morphology.
