Hydroxyl radical streaming from molecular oxygen activation by β-FeC2O4.2H2O for efficiently degrading Microcystin-LR

Photochemical degradation and debromination of bromophenols: Overlooked role of hydrated electron

Efficient removal of chromate at wide range of pH values by β-FeC2O4•2H2O with an amplified Kirkendall effect

Summary: In this study, the removal of chromate (Cr(VI)) from simulated wastewater by beta-FeC2O4 center dot 2H(2)O was investigated. The results showed that beta-FeC2O4 center dot 2H(2)O had a high Cr(VI) removal capacity due to the reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) by Fe(II). The study also revealed the mechanism of Cr(VI) removal by beta-FeC2O4 center dot 2H(2)O through careful examination of the morphology and chemical compositions of the material.

Shifts of surface-bound •OH to homogeneous •OH in BDD electrochemical system via UV irradiation for enhanced degradation of hydrophilic aromatic compounds

Summary: This study found that the combination of UV light and BDD electrolysis can improve the degradation rate of hydrophilic aromatic pollutants. The research shows that surface-bound hydroxyl radicals are the main reactive species in the BDD electrolysis process, while freely-diffusing homogeneous hydroxyl radicals are the main reactive species in the UV-assisted BDD electrolysis process. In addition, cyclic voltammetry revealed how UV light promotes the generation of hydroxyl radicals.

In Situ Monitoring Charge Transfer on Topotactic Epitaxial Heterointerface for Tetracycline Degradation at the Single-Particle Level

BiVO4 quadrangular nanoprisms with highly exposed {101} facets for selective photocatalytic oxidation of benzylamine

Preferential Growth of the Cobalt (200) Facet in Co@N-C for Enhanced Performance in a Fenton-like Reaction

Summary: In this study, a series of Co@N-C materials were synthesized using nitrates as templates to control the preferential growth of the cobalt (200) facet, exhibiting excellent activity for Fenton-like degradation of bisphenol A. The Co(200) facet was found to be the most active for PMS activation, with nitrates promoting its preferential growth. These materials showed higher stability and faster transformation rates, while singlet oxygen was found to play a dominant role in the degradation process. Density functional theory confirmed that Co nanoparticles coated with graphitic nitrogen-doped carbon had the best activity for PMS activation.

Fabrication of a Facet-Oriented BiVO4 Photoanode by Particle Engineering for Promotion of Charge Separation Efficiency
