MnCe/GAC-CNTs catalyst with high activity, SO2 and H2O tolerance for low-temperature NH3-SCR

Yuchuan Xu et al.

Summary: MnCe/GAC-CNTs catalysts exhibited high activity and resistance to SO2 and H2O in low-temperature NH3-SCR. The electron transfer between Ce and Mn species, accompanied by a higher proportion of Ce3+, improved the catalytic activity and SO2/H2O tolerance. The addition of Mn enhanced the adsorption of NO, inhibited the formation of hydroxyl group and the adsorption of SO2, ultimately leading to high SO2 tolerance. The MnCe/GAC-CNTs catalysts showed great potential for practical low-temperature deNOx application.

Destructive and Protective Effects of NH3 on the Low-Temperature Hydrothermal Stability of SAPO-34 and Cu-SAPO-34

Yue Ma et al.

Summary: The influences of gaseous, weakly adsorbed, and strongly adsorbed NH3 on the low-temperature hydrothermal stability of SAPO-34 and Cu-SAPO-34 were investigated in this study. The results showed that gaseous NH3 and weakly adsorbed NH3 led to catalyst deactivation, while strongly adsorbed NH4+ helped protect the catalyst's activity.

Pr-functionalized Cu/SAPO-34 with superior hydrothermal stability for NH3-SCR: The copper species and framework stabilization effect

Huimin Wang et al.

Summary: The effects of adjustable Pr-additive modification on stabilizing the isolated Cu2+ species and zeolite framework of Cu/SAPO-34 for NH3-SCR were investigated. The appropriate addition of Pr indeed improved the catalytic performance and hydrothermal stability of Cu/SAPO-34. Cu/Pr(1)-SAPO-34 showed better structure and performance after hydrothermal aging, while Cu/SAPO-34 deteriorated due to the transformation of Cu2+ ions into CuO. Cu/Pr(3)-SAPO-34, despite having more stable Cu2+ ions, still suffered from hydrothermal aging.

The Absence of Oxygen in Sulfation Promotes the Performance of the Sulfated CeO2 Catalyst for Low-Temperature Selective Catalytic Reduction of NOx by NH3: Redox Property versus Acidity

Qin Wu et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that anaerobic sulfation can significantly enhance the SCR rate of CeO2 catalyst without affecting selectivity and stability. Spectroscopic analysis shows that anaerobic SO2 treatment increases the number and strength of Lewis acid sites on the catalyst, providing direct evidence that acidity, rather than redox properties, determines the performance of Ce-based SCR catalysts.

Summary: The addition of niobium (Nb) significantly enhances the low-temperature activity of Cu(2%)SSZ-13 catalyst without sacrificing N-2 selectivity and sulfur resistance. Niobium ions increase the number of active [Cu(OH)](+)Z sites and Lewis acid sites, promoting NH3 adsorption capacity and NOx conversion. Nb-0.7%/Cu(2%)SSZ-13 zeolite catalyst shows great potential as an NH3-SCR catalyst for NOx elimination in practical applications.

Improvement of Alkali Metal Resistance for NH3-SCR Catalyst Cu/SSZ-13: Tune the Crystal Size

Zexiang Chen et al.

Summary: By controlling the crystal size of Cu/SSZ-13, its resistance to alkali metals can be improved, making it more resistant to sodium poisoning. Larger crystal sizes of Cu/SSZ-13 distribute Cu more evenly in the crystal core, making it less likely to be replaced by Na to generate CuO, effectively controlling the side reaction of NH3 oxidation and the generation of N2O.

Enhancing catalytic performance of Cu-SSZ-13 for the NH3-SCR reaction via in situ introduction of Fe3+ with diatomite

Mengyang Chen et al.

Summary: The study synthesized highly crystalline Cu-SSZ-13 catalysts by introducing Fe3+-containing diatomite, which exhibited better catalytic activity and hydrothermal stability at high temperatures. The extra-framework Fe3+ in SSZ-13-D was found to suppress Cu2+ aggregation and promote the transformation of Cu(OH)(+) species during hydrothermal aging, leading to enhanced catalytic performance. This research provides insights for the development of efficient bimetallic Cu-based zeolite catalysts for NH3-SCR reactions.
