A Simple Molecular Design Strategy for Pure-Red Multiple Resonance Emitters

Haowen Chen et al.

Summary: Although there is a wide range of materials with multiple resonance (MR) in blue to green regions, literature on red-emissive MR emitters is scarce, which needs to be addressed for further applications. In this study, we propose a simple molecular design strategy for constructing pure-red MR emitters through conjugate charge transfer, resulting in a significant redshift of more than 128 nm compared to the selected parent MR core. The proof-of-concept emitter PPZ-BN exhibited a pure-red emission with high efficiency and excellent stability.

Improving the stability and color purity of a BT.2020 blue multiresonance emitter by alleviating hydrogen repulsion

Xiang Wang et al.

Summary: Researchers successfully introduced a new locking unit to solve the steric repulsion issue in the spatially close hydrogen atoms of the multiresonance skeleton, while also strengthening the weak carbon-nitrogen bond in anionic states. A emission with a peak wavelength of 452 nm, FWHM of only 14 nm, and nearly BT.2020 blue chromaticity coordinates was achieved in toluene, resulting in a high maximum external quantum efficiency of 33.9% in a sensitizing device. Furthermore, a stable device with a small y coordinate of 0.057 achieved an impressive LT97 of 178 hours at a constant current density of 12 mA/cm2, nearly 20 times longer than the model emitter.

Narrowband Emissive Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Materials

Hyung Jong Kim et al.

Summary: Organic thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials have attracted research interest for their efficient excitonic utilization in OLEDs. The broad emission spectra of these materials have limited their application in ultrahigh-definition OLED displays. Recently, a new type of TADF material called MR-TADF materials, based on heteroatom-doped polycyclic aromatic frameworks, has gained attention for its efficient narrowband emissions.
