Laccase Immobilization on Copper-Magnetic Nanoparticles for Efficient Bisphenol Degradation

Sanjay K. S. Patel et al.

Summary: In this study, laccase was immobilized on Cu and Cu-magnetic nanoparticles to improve enzyme stability and potential applications. The immobilized laccase showed higher optimum pH and temperature, improved pH and temperature profiles, and enhanced thermal stability compared to the free enzyme. The Cu/Fe2O4-laccase also exhibited higher bisphenol A degradation potential.

Sandwich-like heterostructured nanomaterials immobilized laccase for the degradation of phenolic pollutants and boosted enzyme stability

Mengyu Li et al.

Summary: A novel magnetic 2D/2D heterogeneous structure MXene@NiFe-LDH@Fe3O4 was developed for immobilization of laccase, achieving high enzyme loading and improved stability in a wider range of pHs, temperatures, and organic solvent concentration. The functionalized MXene@NiFe-LDH@Fe3O4 showed a degradation efficiency of 55.5% for 2,4-dichlorophenol, 92.1% for bisphenol A, and 70.9% for pyrocatechol after 7 cycles of repeated catalysis. This study provides a new carrier preparation strategy for efficient immobilization of laccase.
