MnO2 Intercalation-Guided impedance tuning of Carbon/Polypyrrole double conductive layers for electromagnetic wave absorption

Lipeng Wu et al.

Summary: A separated dual conductive layer structure (SDC) absorber, called polypyrrole@MnO2@carbon (PMC), was proposed in this study. The unique microstructure allowed electromagnetic waves to enter the highly conductive materials (HCMs) and enhanced their dielectric loss properties. The PMC absorber showed excellent electromagnetic wave absorption performance with a maximum effective absorption bandwidth (EABmax) of 6.76 GHz and a minimum reflection loss (Rlmin) of -64 dB. Coating the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with PMC reduced its radar cross-section (RCS) by half, indicating its practical application potential.

Enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption performance of ZnO/N-doped carbon microspheres in 2-18 GHz

Liying Xue et al.

Summary: In this study, Zn, N, O-doped microspheres precursors were synthesized using a one-pot method and Zn, N, O-doped carbon composites (ZnO/N-CNs) were obtained by heating the precursors in an Ar atmosphere. The electromagnetic wave absorption (EMWA) performances of the composites were modified by changing the calcination temperature of the precursors. The ZnO/N-CNs calcined at 700°C showed outstanding EMWA properties, making it possible to mass-produce new N-doped carbon-based composites with effective EMWA performance, and providing a practical method for creating dielectric wave-absorbing composites with excellent all-around performances.

One-dimensional metallic, magnetic, and dielectric nanomaterials-based composites for electromagnetic wave interference shielding

Ya Cheng et al.

Summary: This review focuses on the EMI shielding composites with one-dimensional metallic, magnetic, and dielectric nanofillers. These nanofillers can easily assemble to form two-dimensional or three-dimensional EMI networks, reducing the density of the composites and enhancing EMI protection performance. Depending on their structural features, the nanofillers are classified into different types, and their fabrication routes, shielding performances, and EM waves attenuation mechanisms are summarized.
