In this study, the researchers investigated the dysregulation of TNFSFs and TNFRSFs in human breast cancer and dense breast tissue of postmenopausal women. They found that certain TNFSFs/TNFRSFs were upregulated in ER+ breast cancer and dense breast tissue. Estradiol was found to correlate with most of the TNFSF/sTNFRSF members. The study suggests that TNFSFs/sTNFRSFs could potentially be targeted for the treatment and prevention of breast cancer.
