Research on Coal Tar Pitch Catalytic Oxidation and Its Effect on the Emission of PAHs during Co-Carbonation with Coal

Liqing Chen et al.

Summary: This study focused on the oxidation of coal tar pitch (CTP) and its impact on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) emission during co-carbonization with coal. The results showed that oxidation reduced small and medium-molecule aromatic substances while increasing the content of macromolecules. Catalysis played a key role in facilitating dehydrogenation and condensation reactions, leading to a decrease in PAHs emissions.
