Summary: This study retrospectively reviewed the clinical characteristics and different treatment modalities of patients with primary neuroendocrine neoplasms of the breast (BNEN) in China. The findings suggest that factors such as Ki67 expression, HR negativity, and neuroendocrine carcinomas are associated with worse prognosis for BNEN. The use of various treatment modalities, including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and endocrine treatment, can improve the survival outcomes for BNEN patients.

Primary Breast Neuroendocrine Tumors: An Analysis of the National Cancer Database

Summary: This study used the National Cancer Database to analyze the characteristics, treatment modalities, and survival outcomes of primary breast neuroendocrine tumors (BNETs). The results showed that BNET patients were older, had more comorbidities, and were more frequently hormone receptor negative compared to patients with invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC). Furthermore, BNET patients had inferior overall survival compared to IDC patients.
