The changing nature of work - Job strain, job support and sickness absence among care workers and in other occupations in Sweden 1991-2013

Gunnar Aronsson et al.

Summary: This study found long-term trends towards jobs with high demands, particularly among care workers. These high-demand jobs, along with low job control and social support, led to increased sickness absence, with individuals in iso-strain work profiles experiencing the highest increase. Conversely, employees with passive work profiles had the lowest rate and increase in sickness absence.
