Salt substitution and salt-supply restriction for lowering blood pressure in elderly care facilities: a cluster-randomized trial

Yifang Yuan et al.

Summary: A clinical trial conducted in China's residential elderly care facilities found that the use of salt substitute can lower blood pressure and reduce cardiovascular events, while salt restriction has no effect on blood pressure. This study suggests that using salt substitute may provide health benefits for residents of elderly care facilities in China.
