Ligand Energy Staff Gauge for Antenna Effect Study within Metal-Organic Frameworks

Xiao-Zheng Xie et al.

Summary: In this study, the emission behaviors of three AIE ligands with tetraphenyl structures were investigated, and their ladder-shaped emission wavelength was found. By constructing a staff gauge from L0 to L3, different sensitization of Ln3+ ions was achieved, from sensitizing both Eu3+ and Tb3+ to sensitizing only Eu3+ and then to non-sensitization. The threshold value of 5000 cm-1 for complete sensitization was proposed based on the different optical behaviors and energy levels of Ln-MOFs. The coplanar degree of L1-L3 was proposed to explain their optical behaviors and different sensitization. Therefore, the connection among the energy levels, emission wavelength, and their effect on antenna effect for AIE ligands was revealed. L1-Eu MOF exhibited dual emission with a porous property and was used for ratiometric fluorescent detection and removal of F-.

Chelating and pendant dual-antenna effect modulated ratiometric electrochemiluminescence system for lung cancer marker assay

Lijun Cheng et al.

Summary: The electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emitter LCPs Tb-norfloxacin (Tb-NFX) was reported for the first time, which achieved energy transfer from NFX to Tb3+ by chelating antenna effect. This study established a ratiometric ECL biosensor based on the pendant antenna effect mechanism between luminol and Tb-NFX. The immobilization of Tb-NFX on the electrode surface and the introduction of SiO2 nanostars@luminol enabled a self-calibrated assay target using a potential resolved ratiometric strategy. This work demonstrates the feasibility of developing new ECL luminophores through chelating antenna effect and establishes a dual-potential ECL ratio measurement strategy powered by pendant antenna effect, providing new directions for the construction of ECL ratio pairs.

Ultrasensitive near-infrared aptasensor for enrofloxacin detection based on wavelength tunable AgBr nanocrystals electrochemiluminescence emission triggered by O-terminated Ti3C2 MXene

Ding Jiang et al.

Summary: This study presents the preparation of well-dispersed AgBr nanocrystals decorated Ti3C2 MXene nanocomposites (Ti3C2-AgBrNCs) using a simple wet chemical technique, which exhibited highly efficient near-infrared electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emission. The ECL emission wavelength of Ti3C2-AgBrNCs was found to be tunable by varying the Ti3C2 content, and Ti3C2-AgBrNCs showed higher ECL intensity and more stable ECL signal compared to pure AgBr NCs. A direct-type near-infrared ECL aptasensor was constructed using Ti3C2-AgBrNCs as the ECL platform and enrofloxacin (ENR) as the model analyte, demonstrating high sensitivity, a wide linear range, and a low detection limit.
