Surface Plasmon Resonance Immunosensor with Antibody-Functionalized Magnetoplasmonic Nanoparticles for Ultrasensitive Quantification of the CD5 Biomarker

Asta Kausaite-Minkstimiene et al.

Summary: A surface plasmon resonance (SPR) immunosensor signal amplification strategy based on antibody-functionalized gold-coated magnetic nanoparticles (mAuNPs) was developed for ultrasensitive and quantitative detection of the CD5 biomarker. The sandwich immunoassay utilizing mAuNPs-anti-CD5(2B) significantly improved the detection sensitivity and showed satisfactory performance in human blood serum.

Optimized surface plasmon resonance immunoassay for staphylococcal enterotoxin G detection using silica nanoparticles

Sarratea Maria Belen et al.

Summary: Staphylococcal enterotoxins are important causative agents of food poisoning, functioning as both gastrointestinal toxins and superantigens. Symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea, with potential severe cases leading to toxic shock syndrome. The use of SPR technology and silica nanoparticles for signal amplification has shown to enhance the detection sensitivity of SAgs.
