Humanoid shaped optical fiber plasmon biosensor functionalized with graphene oxide/multi-walled carbon nanotubes for histamine detection

Wen Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a new humanoid-shaped tapered optical fiber (HTOF) biosensor based on localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) phenomenon was developed to detect histamine concentrations in fish. A unique tapering structure was created using a combiner manufacturing system and modern processing technologies. Graphene oxide (GO)/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were immobilized on the HTOF probe surface to enhance the biocompatibility of the biosensor. The sensor demonstrated a high sensitivity and detection limit, making it a promising tool for detecting histamine levels in marine products.

Taper-in-taper fiber structure-based LSPR sensor for alanine aminotransferase detection

Zhi Wang et al.

Summary: This study develops a novel biosensor based on the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) principle for the detection of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) analytes. The biosensor is fabricated using a taper-in-taper structure with gold nanoparticles and other nanoparticles to improve sensing performance, and functionalized with glutamate oxidase (GluOx) on the sensor probe surface. The probe demonstrates an excellent linear relationship with ALT concentration and shows promising characteristics for diagnosing liver injury.
