A comparative study on pyrolysis kinetics and thermodynamic parameters of little millet and sunflower stems biomass using thermogravimetric analysis

Summary: The potential of little millet stem (LMS) and sunflower stem (SS) as biomass feedstocks for conversion processes were investigated. Both biomass showed high levels of cellulose accumulation, volatiles, and heating value, making them suitable for pyrolysis process. The activation energy for LMS was estimated as 191.14 kJ/mol (FWO) and for SS was estimated as 166.52 kJ/mol (FWO), indicating the feasibility of combustion process. The pyrolysis process for both biomass was found to be complex based on Z(alpha) analyses.

Comparison of artificial neural network and response surface methodology for evaluation of the predictive capability of bio-oil yield from pyrolysis of Mangifera indica wood sawdust

The analysis of the bio-oil revealed the presence of valuable compounds, and various techniques confirmed the commercial significance of the extracted pyrolysis products. Techno-economic assessment indicated a profitable margin for bio-oil production at an industrial scale of 10 TPD.
