In vivo imaging of nanoparticle-labeled CAR T cells

Louise Kiru et al.

Summary: The study introduces a new approach to label CAR T cells with iron oxide nanoparticles, enabling noninvasive detection of the CAR T cells in solid tumors. The results show that labeled CAR T cells could locate to osteosarcomas and off-target sites, while unlabeled cells were not visible. This study provides a new method for monitoring the location of CAR T cells in solid tumors.

Optical magnetic multimodality imaging of plectin-1-targeted imaging agent for the precise detection of orthotopic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma in mice

Wenjia Zhang et al.

Summary: This study used a combination of multiple imaging modalities, including magnetic particle imaging (MPI), fluorescence molecular imaging (FMI), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), to improve the precise detection of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) in vivo. The targeted nanoparticles demonstrated specific binding to PDAC cells and exhibited excellent imaging performance. The results suggest that MPI in combination with FMI and MRI can provide a precise and comprehensive characterization of PDAC in vivo.

Fully-Automated Spike Detection and Dipole Analysis of Epileptic MEG Using Deep Learning

Ryoji Hirano et al.

Summary: Magnetoencephalography (MEG) is a useful tool for clinical evaluation of interictal spike localization. Manual analysis by neurophysiologists is time-consuming and may not be cost-effective. This study proposes a fully automated AI-based approach called FAMED for spike identification and equivalent current dipole (ECD) estimation using deep learning and semantic segmentation techniques. FAMED achieved comparable performance to neurophysiologists and can contribute to the efficiency and consistency of MEG ECD analysis.

Efficient Joint Estimation of Tracer Distribution and Background Signals in Magnetic Particle Imaging Using a Dictionary Approach

Tobias Knopp et al.

Summary: Background signals are a major source of artifacts in magnetic particle imaging. The current method for handling background signals involves calibration measurements, but this new method proposes joint estimation of particle distribution and background signal based on a dictionary of typical background signals. Reconstruction is performed frame-by-frame with minimal assumptions on the temporal evolution of background signals, allowing for capture of non-linear temporal changes.

Alexandre Gramfort et al.

Summary: Traditional supervised learning is often limited by the availability of labeled data in clinically-relevant datasets like EEG, while self-supervised learning shows promise in utilizing unlabeled data to achieve competitive performance. The study demonstrates that linear classifiers trained on self-supervised learned features outperform purely supervised deep neural networks in low-label data scenarios, suggesting a potential wider application of deep learning models in EEG data.
