Assessment of Serum Elements Concentration and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Priya Sharma et al.

Summary: In women with PCOS, higher serum concentrations of Cu, Co, Cr, and Fe, as well as lower concentrations of Se and Mg were observed. The levels of other elements analyzed were not significantly associated with PCOS. Further studies in subpopulations with different factors like obesity and insulin resistance are needed to understand the role of these elements in the syndrome.

The effect of magnesium alone or its combination with other supplements on the markers of inflammation, OS and metabolism in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS): A systematic review

Ruiyun Li et al.

Summary: This systematic review examines the effectiveness of magnesium supplements on inflammation, oxidative stress, and metabolism in PCOS patients. While magnesium supplementation alone did not show significant improvements, combining magnesium with other supplements improved glucose and lipid metabolism. Further research is needed to confirm the effects of magnesium and melatonin on metabolism markers.

Blood Magnesium Level and Selected Oxidative Stress Indices in Lead-Exposed Workers

Magdalena Wyparlo-Wszelaki et al.

Summary: Hypomagnesemia contributes to lead-induced oxidative stress, unfavorable modification of antioxidant system function, and promotion of lead-induced impairment of heme synthesis. Therefore, prevention of hypomagnesemia should be considered as an important step in ensuring adequate prophylaxis of chronic lead poisoning.
