Prediction model for myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery using machine learning

Summary: Prediction models for myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery (MINS) were developed using machine learning techniques and provided online. Two models based on 12 and 6 variables were generated, with an accuracy of 0.97 for both. These models need further verification in other populations.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of pre-existing atrial fibrillation (AF) on adverse outcomes after noncardiac surgery. The results showed that AF was associated with increased risk of mortality, heart failure, and stroke, but decreased risk of myocardial infarction. AF improved the discriminative ability of the revised cardiac risk index.
