Characterization of Glowbug - a gamma-ray telescope for bursts and other transients

Richard S. Woolf et al.

Summary: This paper describes the Glowbug instrument, a gamma-ray telescope designed to detect and localize gamma-ray bursts and other transient events. Glowbug's primary objective is the detection and localization of short gamma-ray bursts, and it will provide data for multi-wavelength and multi-messenger studies of these merger events.

Radiation damage assessment of SensL SiPMs

Lee Mitchell et al.

Summary: Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) are rapidly replacing traditional photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) as the preferred readout for gamma-ray scintillation detectors in space due to their size, weight, and power savings. However, they are shown to be vulnerable to radiation damage, especially the larger cell sizes. Current research focuses on monitoring the increase in bulk current with radiation damage to better quantify the effects for future missions.

The Fermi-GBM Gamma-Ray Burst Spectral Catalog: 10 yr of Data

S. Poolakkil et al.

Summary: The study systematically analyzed the spectra of gamma-ray bursts detected by the Fermi Gamma-Ray Burst Monitor during its first ten years of operation, resulting in a compendium of over 18,000 spectra using four different spectral models. Detailed procedures and criteria were described, and the parameter distributions were presented in both observer frame and GRB rest frame.
