Comparison of metabolites in rumen fluid, urine, and feces of dairy cow from subacute ruminal acidosis model measured by proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy

Hyun Sang Kim et al.

Summary: This study investigated the changes in metabolites in the rumen fluid, urine, and feces of dairy cows fed different feed ratios. Metabolite analysis was performed using proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) identification, and statistical analysis was conducted using Chenomx NMR software 8.4 and Metaboanalyst 4.0. The results showed differential metabolites with low and high concentrations in rumen fluid, urine, and feces samples, which could potentially be used as biomarkers for further research on subacute ruminal acidosis.

Metabolomics comparison of rumen fluid and milk in dairy cattle using proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy

Jun Sik Eom et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the metabolites in rumen fluid and milk of dairy cattle using H-1-NMR spectroscopy, and compared the results with other dairy cattle herds worldwide, providing a basic dataset for metabolite research. Results showed a wide variety of metabolites in both rumen fluid and milk, with organic acid and carbohydrate metabolites having the highest concentrations.
