Reducing conservatism in robust stability analysis of fractional-order-polytopic systems

Roozbeh Abolpour et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the robust stability of fractional-order (FO) LTI systems with polytopic uncertainty by developing an over-parameterization technique to convert the main characteristic polynomial into local over-parameterized characteristic polynomials (LOPCPs). It proves that the robust stability of LOPCPs implies the robust stability of the uncertain system, and proposes an algorithm to explore system's robust stability based on investigating the robust stability of these LOPCPs. Through extensive examples, the algorithm is shown to have superiority in feasibility comparison.

Finite-time stability of fractional-order fuzzy cellular neural networks with time delays

Feifei Du et al.

Summary: The finite-time stability of fractional-order fuzzy cellular neural networks with time delays is investigated. A new fractional-order Gronwall inequality with time delay is developed for the stability analysis of fractional-order delayed systems. A less conservative criterion for the finite-time stability of fractional-order fuzzy cellular neural networks with time delays is derived based on this inequality. Two examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and less conservativeness of the proposed results.

Adaptive gain-scheduling control for continuous-time systems with polytopic uncertainties: An LMI-based approach

Victor Costa da Silva Campos et al.

Summary: A new adaptive gain-scheduling control scheme is developed for continuous-time linear systems with polytopic uncertainties. The control law is a convex combination of a fixed set of controller gains, utilizing the polytopic representation of system uncertainty. An adaptation law is proposed to provide tuning parameters for the gain-scheduling implementation, ensuring bounded closed-loop signals and convergence to the origin. The effectiveness of the control scheme is demonstrated through theoretical arguments and numerical illustrations.
