In Situ Synthesis of Monolithic Cu2O-CuO/Cu Catalysts for Effective Ozone Decomposition

Anqi Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, monolithic Cu2O-CuO/Cu catalysts were prepared by in situ thermal oxidizing-reducing copper foam. The obtained catalyst exhibited high catalytic activity towards O-3 removal, which can be attributed to the generated Cu+/Cu2+ redox couples, the donor/acceptor-type point defects, and the Cu2O-CuO p-p heterojunction. This research is of great importance for rapid, controllable, and productive O-3 removal applications.

Benzylic Csp3-H Bond Oxidation on the (111) Facets of Octahedral Cu2O Nanocrystals

Neelam Gupta et al.

Summary: Octahedral-shaped Cu2O nanocrystals were synthesized and used as catalyst for benzylic sp(3) C-H bond oxidation. The oxidation of Cu2O to CuO can be avoided in the dark or inert atmosphere or continuous flow of oxygen gas. The proposed reaction mechanism involves activation of O-2 molecule through single electron transfer (SET) mechanism on the (111) facets of semiconducting Cu2O NCs in light.

Identification of copper-sulfide species on the cuprite surface and its role in sulfidization flotation

Guang Han et al.

Summary: The research demonstrated that Na2S can enhance the floatability of cuprite. Sulfidization can strengthen the adsorption of xanthate on the cuprite surface, reducing collector consumption. A hydrophobic and stable copper-sulfide film forms on the cuprite surface, confirming that sulfidization improves cuprite flotation.

Modification of malachite surfaces with lead ions and its contribution to the sulfidization flotation

Han Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, the sulfidization mechanism of malachite was investigated by pretreating with Pb(NO3)2 and analyzing the results of microflotation experiments, zeta-potential determination, adsorption tests, XPS, and ToF-SIMS. The results demonstrated that pretreatment with lead ions significantly improved the floatability of malachite, increasing the maximum recovery by 42.6% compared to Na2S treatment. The interaction between Pb species, S species, and O species on the mineral surface led to the enhancement of malachite sulfidization.

Surface sulfidization mechanism of cuprite and its response to xanthate adsorption and flotation performance

Guang Han et al.

Summary: The beneficiation of cuprite through sulfidization using Na2S can significantly improve its floatability, but the quantity of Na2S is crucial as an appropriate amount enhances flotation recovery while excessive Na2S reduces it.
