In-depth exploration of the synergistic interplay between perovskite barium titanate nanoparticles and two-dimensional graphene oxide for flexible piezoelectric nanogenerators

Jin Kyu Han et al.

Summary: An unprecedented strategy for direct growth of perovskite piezoelectric barium titanate nanoparticles on two-dimensional graphene oxide was demonstrated to maximize the synergistic effects in enhancing the piezoelectric response of nanogenerators. The hybridization of BTO nanoparticles with graphene oxide improved the piezoelectric response compared to pristine BTO nanoparticles-based nanogenerators, due to the formation of homogeneous size distribution and the healing of oxygen vacancies in BTO crystals along with an enhancement in the crystallinity of GO through chemical reduction.

Significant Improvements in Dielectric Constant and Energy Density of Ferroelectric Polymer Nanocomposites Enabled by Ultralow Contents of Nanofillers

Li Li et al.

Summary: This study reports the incorporation of low-K Cd1-xZnxSe1-ySy nanodots into a ferroelectric polymer, resulting in significant increases in K and E-b of polymer composites and outperforming current dielectric materials. The observed dielectric enhancement is attributed to structural changes induced by the nanodot fillers, including transformation of polymer chain conformation and induced interfacial dipoles, as confirmed by density functional theory calculations. This work provides a new experimental route to scalable high-energy-density polymer dielectrics and advances the fundamental understanding of dielectric behavior at atomistic scales.
