A survey for solving mixed integer programming via machine learning

Jiayi Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper surveys the trend of using machine learning to solve mixed-integer programming problems. Machine learning methods can provide solutions based on patterns from training data. The integration of machine learning and mixed-integer programming is discussed, including both exact and heuristic algorithms. The outlook for learning-based solvers, the expansion to other combinatorial optimization problems, and the embrace of traditional solvers and machine learning components are proposed. A list of papers utilizing machine learning technologies for combinatorial optimization problems is maintained.

A multi-label text message classification method designed for applications in call/contact centre systems

Katarzyna Poczeta et al.

Summary: This paper presents a system for multi-label classification of text data in Call/Contact Centre systems. The proposed approach allows automatic routing of contents to agents with different competences, which is an innovation and advantage over existing solutions. It combines vectorization methods, dimensionality reduction methods, and a classifier based on artificial neural networks. The effectiveness of the developed method was evaluated using data from real CC systems and the Stackoverflow database, and compared with other classification methods.

Fuzzy parameterized fuzzy soft k-nearest neighbor classifier

S. Memis et al.

Summary: In this paper, a new kNN algorithm called FPFS-kNN based on fuzzy parameterized fuzzy soft matrices (fpfs-matrices) is proposed. The algorithm considers the impacts of parameters on classification using pseudo-metrics of fpfs-matrices and achieves better classification results compared to existing algorithms.

System for adaptive extraction of non-invasive fetal electrocardiogram

Katerina Barnova et al.

Summary: This study identified an effective method for extracting non-invasive fetal electrocardiogram (NI-fECG) from signals recorded from the mother's abdomen, combining independent component analysis (ICA), fast transversal filter (FTF), and complementary ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN). Testing on two patient databases demonstrated that this combined method is capable of accurately extracting fECG with lower computational complexity.

IM-c-means: a new clustering algorithm for clusters with skewed distributions

Yun Liu et al.

Summary: In this paper, a new clustering algorithm called IM-c-means is proposed to handle clusters with skewed distributions. By considering volumes and object densities of all clusters, this algorithm performs well in dealing with clusters of different sizes or densities, and shows a significant improvement over other methods for imbalanced data sets.
