Full solution-processed heavy-metal-free mini-QLEDs for flexible display applications

Run Wang et al.

Summary: Micro/mini displays play a significant role in the modern information society and have promising applications. In this study, passive-matrix and active-matrix mini-quantum dot light-emitting diodes (PM/AM-m-QLEDs) based on heavy-metal-free blue ZnTeSe/ZnS QDs were successfully fabricated using a full solution process. The m-QLEDs achieved high pixels per inch (PPI) suitable for televisions, computers, and mobile phones, and patterned display applications on both flexible and solid substrates. The low-cost advantage of solution-processed QDs could pave the way for low-cost displays.

Reducing the impact of Auger recombination in quasi-2D perovskite light-emitting diodes

Yuanzhi Jiang et al.

Summary: By reducing the exciton binding energy of materials and employing a polar molecule for treatment, the Auger recombination effect in perovskite materials has been successfully suppressed, leading to efficient PeLEDs devices with outstanding photoluminescence quantum yields. Additionally, a record luminance of 82,480 cd m(-2) was achieved due to the suppressed efficiency roll-off, making it one of the brightest visible PeLEDs to date.
