Electrostatically Controllable Channel Thickness and Tunable Low-Frequency Noise Characteristics of Double-Gated Multilayer MoS2 Field-Effect Transistors with h-BN Dielectric

Jimin Park et al.

Summary: In this study, we fabricated double-gated multilayer MoS2 transistors and systematically investigated the effects of bottom gate voltage on their electrical characteristics and interface coupling. Modulating the bottom gate voltage dramatically improved the I-on/I-off ratio of the transistor. We also observed for the first time the low-frequency noise characteristics tuned by bottom gate voltage. Our findings contribute to a better understanding of the operating principles of double-gated multilayer MoS2 transistors and will facilitate performance optimization in real-world applications.

Enhanced Selectivity in Volatile Organic Compound Gas Sensors Based on ReS2-FETs under Light-Assisted and Gate-Bias Tunable Operation

Amir Zulkefli et al.

Summary: By utilizing a two-dimensional rhenium disulfide field-effect transistor, researchers have successfully achieved selective and sensitive detection of volatile organic compounds through enhanced gas species selectivity with light illumination. The study found that light modulation influences the device's response to adsorbed molecules, leading to varying sensing behaviors depending on the type of gas used.
