Improved electrical treeing properties of silicone rubber at high temperatures by grafting aromatic hydrocarbon voltage stabilizer

Xiaoqian Zhu et al.

Summary: In this study, a voltage stabilizer called 2-Allyl-4,6-dibenzoyl resorcinol was grafted onto silicone rubber to improve its electrical treeing resistance at high temperatures. The grafted silicone rubber showed an increase in electrical tree initiation voltage by 14.5%, 42.5%, and 46.0% compared to unmodified silicone rubber at 30 degrees C, 50 degrees C, and 70 degrees C, respectively. The improved performance was attributed to the grafted rigid structure-benzene rings reducing material relaxation at high temperatures.

Biomechanical properties of metastatic breast cancer cells in high glucose and hyperosmolarity environment

Wenjing Zou et al.

Summary: The biomechanical properties of breast cancer cells were studied under different glucose concentrations and osmotic pressure levels. It was found that higher glucose levels reduced the cell stiffness, while higher osmolarity had the opposite effect. In diabetic patients, breast cancer cells exhibited enhanced deformability. This research provides insights into the mechanism of how diabetes may contribute to the metastatic behavior of breast cancer at the cellular level, and may have implications for optimizing diagnostics and therapeutics in clinical practice.

Improvement of the DC electrical performance of silicone rubber for cable accessories through aromatic hydrocarbon voltage stabilizer

Xiaoqian Zhu et al.

Summary: This study attempted to improve the DC electrical properties of silicone rubber (SiR) used in high voltage DC cables by adding voltage stabilizers. The results showed that organically modified SiR had significantly enhanced DC electrical properties, which could be attributed to the high electron affinity and electric field gradient effect of the voltage stabilizers.
