circ_0089153 exacerbates breast cancer cells proliferation and metastasis via sponging miR-2467-3p/E2F6

Shu-Lan Gao et al.

Summary: The role of circ_0089153 in breast cancer malignancy development was investigated in this study. It was found that circ_0089153 acts as an oncogene in breast cancer, promoting proliferation and metastasis by sponging miR-2467-3p/E2F6. The study also revealed that miR-2467-3p directly suppresses E2F6 and high expression of E2F6 is associated with worse survival in breast cancer patients. These findings suggest that circ_0089153 could be a potential target for breast cancer treatment.

Arecoline promotes proliferation and migration of human HepG2 cells through activation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway

Hai Xie et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of arecoline on the proliferation and migration of HepG2 hepatoma cells and identified differentially expressed miRNAs and hub target genes associated with arecoline-induced cancers. The results showed that arecoline treatment increased the proliferation and migration ability of HepG2 cells and upregulated the expression of miR-21 and miR-1267, as well as factors in the PI3K-AKT pathway, CDK1, and CCND1. Downregulation of RAF1 was also observed. These findings suggest that arecoline may promote hepatocellular cancer through the activation of specific miRNAs and pathways.

miRNA biomarkers for predicting overall survival outcomes for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

Zeng-Hong Wu et al.

Summary: The study used RNA sequencing and miRNA sequencing data to reveal the dysfunctional miRNAs microenvironment in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and provide useful biomarkers for miRNAs therapy. By predicting the target genes of miRNAs, nine genes correlated with patient's overall survival outcomes were identified.

miRNAs in lung cancer. A systematic review identifies predictive and prognostic miRNA candidates for precision medicine in lung cancer

Shen Zhong et al.

Summary: Blood-borne miR-20a, miR-10b, miR-150, and miR-223 were identified as excellent diagnostic biomarkers for non-small cell lung cancer, while miR205 showed specificity for squamous cell carcinoma. Additionally, a systematic review revealed 38 commonly regulated miRNAs in tumor tissue and circulation, enabling the prediction of histological subtypes of LC.

Reck-Notch1 Signaling Mediates miR-221/222 Regulation of Lung Cancer Stem Cells in NSCLC

Yuefan Guo et al.

Summary: The miR-221/222 cluster plays a crucial role in regulating CSCs in NSCLC, affecting tumor initiation, metastasis, and drug resistance. Reck, identified as a key direct target gene of miR-221/222, plays a critical role in the activation of the Notch1 signaling pathway in NSCLC.
