Multicolor Biosensor for Trypsin Detection Based on the Regulation of the Peroxidase Activity of Bovine Serum Albumin-Coated Gold Nanoclusters and Etching of Gold Nanobipyramids

Qin Luo et al.

Summary: This study established an innovative multicolor sensor for trypsin detection, based on the regulation of the peroxidase activity of BSA-Au NCs and efficient etching of Au NBPs. The designed sensor has a linear relationship with the logarithm of trypsin concentration, with a detection limit of 0.045 μg/mL. It has been successfully applied to analyze trypsin concentration in human serum samples from healthy individuals and pancreatitis patients.

Occurrence and ecotoxicity of sulfonamides in the aquatic environment: A review

Weiyan Duan et al.

Summary: Rapid population growth and increasing demand for animal protein food have led to a continuous increase in global utilization of antibiotic, specifically sulfonamides (SAs), which are found to be ubiquitous in aquatic environments and pose a potential ecological risk. Research on different trophic level organisms shows that algae are the most susceptible to selected sulfonamide antibiotics, and some of these antibiotics pose a great risk to the aquatic system.

Paper-based multicolor sensor for on-site quantitative detection of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid based on alkaline phosphatase-mediated gold nanobipyramids growth and colorimeter-assisted method for quantifying color

Xingyan Ye et al.

Summary: In this study, a paper-based multicolor AuNBPs sensor was developed for quantitative detection of 2,4-D. The sensor improved stability of AuNBPs and the detection sensitivity by using a paper-based analytical device and a handheld colorimeter. By combining this sensor with an alkaline phosphatase-mediated AuNBPs growth method, 2,4-D could be quantified with a detection limit of 18 ng mL(-1) by a colorimeter. The sensor showed good recovery rates and a low relative standard deviation when applied to detect 2,4-D in spiked rice and apple samples.

Effect of additive acid on seeded growth of gold nanobipyramids

Suratun Nafisah et al.

Summary: The presence of sharp tips and edges of gold nanobipyramids lead to strong local electromagnetic field enhancement. The study on efficacy of additive acid on the formation of GNBPs showed that different acid types and concentrations affect the yield and aspect ratio. The GNBPs produced exhibit dual plasmon bands and can be potentially used in sensors, SERS, catalysis, and photonics.

A multicolor immunosensor for point-of-care testing NTRK1 gene fusion

Lishuang Yu et al.

Summary: The gene fusion of NTRK promotes tumor formation and is closely related to multiple cancers. A multicolor immunosensor has been developed for rapid detection of NTRK1 gene fusion by the naked eye, allowing for qualitative and semi-quantitative assessment within 20 minutes. This innovative method could be valuable for quick detection of NTRK gene fusion markers in remote areas with limited medical resources.

Integrating multiple hybridization chain reactions on gold nanoparticle and alkaline phosphatase-mediated in situ growth of gold nanobipyramids: An ultrasensitive and high color resolution colorimetric method to detect the mecA gene of Staphylococcus aureus

Jing Zhou et al.

Summary: The study introduces a high-resolution colorimetric biosensor based on multiple hybridization chain reactions (HCRs) and gold nanoparticles (AuNP) for ultrasensitive detection of the Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) mecA gene. The method demonstrates high specificity and sensitivity, capable of detecting target DNA concentrations as low as 2.71 pM with rainbow-like colors associated with different DNA concentrations. This approach has potential applications in clinical diagnosis.
