Advantages of Multiplexing Ability of the Orbitrap Mass Analyzer in the Multi-Mycotoxin Analysis

David Rakk et al.

Summary: In this study, a 1-minute multi-mycotoxin analysis method was developed using high-resolution equipment and a short column. This method was able to detect 11 mycotoxins in corn and wheat matrices within one minute, utilizing the multiplexing and high-resolution capability of the QExactive Orbitrap MS.

The pH dependence of photochemical reactions between methoxyphenols with Fe(III)-oxalates

Hao Zhou et al.

Summary: A simple and sensitive method combining a modified QuEChERS method and UPLC-MS/MS was developed for the determination of amphenicol antibiotic residues in aquaculture products. The method was optimized to maximize extraction efficiency and purification effect. The results showed good linearity, with recoveries ranging from 78.6% to 106.2% and low relative standard deviations. The method demonstrated high sensitivity with a limit of quantification of 0.01-0.04 μg/kg, and showed potential for detecting amphenicol antibiotic residues in aquaculture products.

Development and optimization of a LC-MS/MS compatible method for quantification of losartan, hydrochlorothiazide and their impurities using AQbD approach and measurement uncertainty evaluation

Ariel Lucas Rocha et al.

Summary: The concept of Analytical Quality by Design (AQbD) offers a more robust and scientifically based alternative to traditional analytical development methods. In this study, AQbD was applied to develop a stability-indicating analytical procedure for a pharmaceutical product. The method proved to be effective, reliable, and applicable to different detectors.

Simultaneous analysis of multiple steroidal biomarkers in saliva for objective stress assessment by on-line coupling of automated in-tube solid-phase microextraction and polarity-switching LC-MS/MS

Hiroyuki Kataoka et al.

Summary: We have developed a simple and sensitive method for simultaneously determining four steroidal stress biomarkers in saliva, including cortisol, testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone, and DHEA sulfate. The method utilizes automated in-tube solid-phase microextraction and polarity-switching liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. The method has good linearity, low limits of detection, and low intra- and inter-day variations. It is highly sensitive and specific for measuring these biomarkers in small saliva samples.

Evaluation of polarity switching for untargeted lipidomics using liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry

Henrik Carlsson et al.

Summary: Untargeted lipidomics analysis using liquid chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry was performed with polarity switching and separate polarities, showing that using separate polarities can reduce the coefficient of variation and detect slightly more endogenous features, with low overlap between positive and negative polarities, highlighting the importance of using both polarities for untargeted lipidomics analysis. The results also indicated that both methodologies provided highly similar biological results, confirming the applicability of polarity switching.
