Modeling approach for flexible shaft-disk-drum rotor systems with elastic connections and supports

Shengnan Zhao et al.

Summary: A dynamic modeling method is proposed for shaft-disk-drum (SDM) rotor systems with elastic connections and supports, and the coupling vibrations of disk, drum and shaft are investigated. The motion equations for flexible SDM rotor systems are derived using Lagrange equation by expanding displacement fields with orthogonal polynomials obtained by Gram-Schmidt process. The proposed modeling approach is verified and can be applied to more complex configurations.

A unified modeling approach for rotating flexible shaft-disk systems with general boundary and coupling conditions

Shengnan Zhao et al.

Summary: A unified modeling approach for investigating the general coupling vibrations of rotating flexible shaft-disk systems is developed in this study. The method considers the effects induced by rotation and utilizes artificial springs to represent boundary and coupling conditions, obtaining motion equations for flexible shaft-disk systems. The approach overcomes the deficiencies of existing methods and can be extended to complex rotor systems.

Nonlinear aeroservoelastic analysis of a supersonic aircraft with control fin free-play by component mode synthesis technique

Wei Tian et al.

Summary: The study utilized a modeling method based on component-mode synthesis technique to investigate the nonlinear aeroservoelastic behaviors of a three-dimensional supersonic aircraft, validating the feasibility of the reduced-order aeroelastic model for gust response analysis. A hybrid adaptive feedback control algorithm was proposed for gust load alleviation, demonstrating better control performance for pitch attitude angle induced by gust loads.

Intelligent Fault Diagnosis of Rotor-Bearing System Under Varying Working Conditions With Modified Transfer Convolutional Neural Network and Thermal Images

Haidong Shao et al.

Summary: A new framework for fault diagnosis of rotor-bearing system under varying working conditions is proposed using modified CNN and transfer learning. Infrared thermal images are collected to characterize the health condition, and modified CNN is developed with stochastic pooling and Leaky ReLU. The proposed method outperforms other cutting edge methods in fault diagnosis of rotor-bearing system by adapting to limited available training data in different working conditions.

Model order reduction methods for geometrically nonlinear structures: a review of nonlinear techniques

Cyril Touze et al.

Summary: This paper reviews nonlinear methods for model order reduction in structures with geometric nonlinearity, with a special focus on techniques based on invariant manifold theory. It first discusses the historical development and specific applications of invariant manifolds, and then addresses the specific case of structures discretised with the finite element method. The paper concludes by detailing recent developments in direct computation of reduced-order models relying on invariant manifolds theory.
